Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby receives first wedding invitation

Donna is no air head

James Middleton, whose parents own a party paraphernalia firm, knows that there is money in socialising. His girlfriend, Donna Air seems to have discovered that, too.

She turned up at two recent soirees, posed for pictures and left a few minutes later.

?We paid a booking company to oversee the celebrities attending the event,? admits an organiser of one of the parties.

Laura Wright's beef with Kiri Te Kanawa

Laura Wright, who will sing for the Queen for the sixth time in a year when she performs at the Coronation Jubilee concerts this week, is upset by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa?s comments that performers need a bit of "beef" on them.

Wright, 23, tells Mandrake: "It is so stupid she has highlighted body stuff. I find it strange she is commenting on girls? figures.

"She pointed out the sexualisation of young women in the classical industry and that frustrates me. I am just about to pick up my first-class degree at the Royal College of Music and at no point in my four-year course did my figure come into it."

The soprano adds: "For me, it is about being healthy: I?m not thin or enormous, but just a sporty shape. I look after my vocal muscles and my other muscles as well and I don?t feel the pressure to diet to go on stage thin."

Wright, a keen rugby player, can tackle Te Kanawa when they both appear at the Jubilee concerts.
